Agenda and minutes

The Meeting commenced with Prof John Tudno Williams leading the Committee in prayer.

In the absence of the Chairman, the commencement of the meeting was chaired by Prof John Tudno Williams.

The Chair conveyed the committees’ sympathy to Professor Catrin Williams on the passing of her father recently.

Councillor Lyndon Lloyd MBE, Rev Mark Ansell and Rev Wyn Thomas apologised for their inability to attend the meeting.

It was AGREED to confirm as a true record the Minutes of the Meeting of the Standing Advisory Council held on 12 February 2021.

4.Matters Arising

Minute 6 (b) Membership of the Committee- The Chairman welcomed Anna Uruska as the Catholic representative to her first meeting. Rev Wyn Thomas had also accepted the invitation to join the committee, however, he was unable to attend this meeting and the clerk apologised that he had received the agenda late. 

Consideration was given to the consultation document upon the Religion, Values and Ethics Guidance. Following comments from Members, it was agreed that the Corporate Manager – School Improvement School Services would collate the comments and circulate to Members of consideration prior to submission to Welsh Government and attached as Appendix 1.

Following comments submitted to the Corporate Manager – School Improvement School Services by Members, the response sent to Welsh Government was amended accordingly and attached as Appendix 2.
