Councillor Steve Davies, Endaf Edwards and Caryl Roberts apologised for their inability to attend the meeting.

 

Councillor Amanda Edwards apologised for her inability to attend the meeting as she was on other Council duties.

It was RESOLVED to confirm as a true record the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on the 14 July 2022 subject to noting that Councillor Paul Hinge had tendered his apologies.

General Update - Taxis and other matters (Non-Statutory) pdf icon PDF 15 MB

Minutes:

Consideration was given to the General Update report on Taxis and other matters (Non-Statutory). The report had been presented in order to advise Members of activity undertaken by the Licensing Section since the last Committee meeting and also advise on current work being undertaken.

 

An update on the following was provided:-

  • Revision of Hackney Carriage (Taxi) Fares
  • Taxi Hearing - (Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) act 1976)
  • Welsh Government Consultation – National Transport Delivery Plan: 2022-2027 - Taxi Decarbonisation Action Plan, Legislation and Policy Reform, Licensing Reform and National Standards for Taxis and PHVs, Integrated Ticketing and Journey Planning

 

It was AGREED to note the report for information .

 

 

Following questions from the floor, it was AGREED to note the update provided.

 

It was also noted that a Member workshop had considered the consultation on the National Transport Delivery Plan 2022 and had responded

Any Other Business

Minutes:

It was AGREED that the Chair and Vice-Chair of the committee would prepare a scoping document to consider a Forward Work Programme for the Committee. It was reported that the Enforcement Policy could be presented at the next meeting as it would be a useful document to new Members on the Committee.
