Agenda and minutes

Condolences were expressed to the family of Mr Barry Evans who had recently passed away. Mr Evans had worked as a Licensing Officer with the Council prior to his retirement.

It was RESOLVED to confirm as a true record the minutes of the meeting of the Committee held on the 26 November 2020.

General Update

Consideration was given to the Report of the  Trading Standards & Licensing Manager and Senior Licensing Officer advising Members of activity undertaken by the Licensing Section since the last Committee meeting as follows:-

·         Coronavirus regulations – Update

·         Reviews of Premises Licenses - Licensing Act 2003

·         Events and Activities Group (Covid-19)

·         The Licensing Act 2003 (2020 UEFA European Football Championships) Order 2021

·         Gambling Policy Review

·         Gambling Matters

Following questions from the floor, it was AGREED:-

(i) to note the report for information;

(ii) to recommend to Council during consideration of the review of the Gambling Policy Review adopt a ‘No Casino’ policy as previously agreed at Council in 2018; and

(iii) that the chair would write to the gambling commission in respect of restricting the advertisement of gambling websites.
